We don't need no education

Transferring universities has been a nightmare and a half.  My application still hasn't been processed and university is already in it's first week!

Once again, looking like I'm going to be voiding over a year off my life again.  I'm likely to end up cancelling this year of uni at this rate.  It's still the 4th day and I'm still unable to enrol in my course but in the end it might appear as a blessing in disguise.

The move from Perth to Adelaide has been tricky in regards to getting lots of little things sorted out, as a matter a fact today we're still going to finally move things around so I can actually fit my stuff somewhere in this unit.  Most things have been slow but have finally been happening such as switching work and bringing all my stuff over but it's happening, uni on the other hand has not been.

While it does put my career at risk, the reality is that Neko Nation alone is putting my career at risk due to the amount of time it takes up and my plans for it, it's not really possible for me to hold a full time job while putting on Neko Nation and also helping out with Tokyo Hardcore as well.  I struggled a fair bit last year while I was with Susannah in Adelaide and while I thought it was bad, it's only going to get worse this year hitting the con circuit and the Neko Nation tour as well, it's going to be insanely intense.
It's something I'm going to have to seriously consider but as time is ticking, it's likely I will need to drop uni for the time being, pick up an extra job to get some extra cash in (me, with multiple jobs, gasp!) and possibly not end up being an accountant as a career after all.

It should hopefully all work out, if not, tentacles!

Re-animated

It's scary, tomorrow is finally Tokyo Hardcore's launch into Adelaide.  Things may not have gone to plan but still it's going to be fun to rock AV-Con and meet lots of awesome people there.  Considering how dinner went with Susannah's friends last night, I'm looking forward to catching up with the girls again and so many more, especially since time has been so against me catching up with people in Adelaide as well.

I'm slowly starting to get the hang of Adelaide and I'm slowly getting over all the little differences, overall taking Susannah out of the picture, it's still quite nice here.  Perth definitely has it's charm although I'm starting to like what Adelaide has to offer, it's a bit more multicultural, got a nice old school feel to it and I've really noticed the whole nerd/alt friendly vibe here, it doesn't compare to Melbourne but it's a nice improvement.  There are still a few things I do prefer in Perth, I was horrified to find there were no ITG machines pre-loaded with Caramelldansen!

Despite all the craziness, free time is slowly starting to creep a little bit my way in terms of my life slowing down and making an attempt to get fitter so I'll end up sleeping less despite the insanely freezing Adelaide cold though.  Thankfully Susannah has some pretty warm clothes and keeps me warm at night.

I think the other thing that's really caught my attention is the number of people clicking to attend Neko Nation Adelaide, it's quite insane the following here we've built up, although I've noticed a lot of people said yes despite living in Melbourne and Perth, although we did have a fair few fly over from last time.

Other interesting things, include the AV-Con drinking game where everyone must take a shot when I call "AV-Con", "Wai-Con" instead.

Getting a bit frustrated at how slow the roads are here in comparison to Perth, on the plus side, nobody has screwed up a merge here, seriously, it's nice to be in a place where people can merge!

Things between me and Susannah are great, our relationship may be getting a bit more real with more duller things such as chores, working lives but things are still wonderful and she is still the one I need to be with for the rest of my life.  ^^

Adelaide

 Nyan!

I've been here for around a week now in Adelaide and I've had one pretty mixed week here already.

To start off, it's been awesome living with my girlfriend, I knew what it was like to live with her and to be honest I can't really see us having problems living together.  Honestly being partners in business is far more stressful than living together.

Tokyo Hardcore is only a week till launch at AV-Con and we've been feverishly working away, despite battling through sickness, it's going quiet well, even if we're not seeing everything fall perfectly to plan, things are happening, even if we're achieving more of our medium terms goals rather than our short term goals.

For the record, just to clear things up, in regards to Tokyo Hardcore, me and Susannah are both partners in this business venture, although in essence it is Susannah's store and she has full control in regards to everything that is happening in regards to the store.  My role is more back of house and doing a lot of the financial, systems and advisory role.  Susannah is pretty much leading the way and it's a case of doing my best to make sure I can find a way to make it happen.

Working on Tokyo Hardcore has generally been fun although the last week has been a bit frustrating, after doing more fun things like setting up brands, ordering in stock and getting the store signed.  A lot of our week has been stuck on more boring aspects, which has lead to a lot to exhaustion, especially since we're both not feeling too great.  I'm sleeping for at least 9 hours a day and can barely get through 10 footers in DDR/ITG anymore, may need to start working on a new exercise routine from now on to counteract this.

Despite all the frustrating problems, we put it down to getting very little reward out of Tokyo Hardcore in regards to not really doing much outside of the business so Susannah showed me around outside of the house and we went on adventures to arcades, shopping centres, decorations for the store, food, beer, bowling, laser tag and even crepes!

It's been one interesting up and down week but the weekend really helped put things back into perspective after all the problems in regards to feeling a bit down about being in a new place, getting lost, not really knowing anyone and re-organising my stuff.  There has been some pluses and in particular AV-Con is going to be exciting if somewhat stressful.  I'm very excited and looking forward to it and see a lot of my Adelaide friends there!

Adelaide Arrival Part 2

Nyaaaa, finally back in Adelaide, this time we took the long way, via the road, 2700kms across the Nullabor.  It was one hell of an experience, left sick on 2-3 hours of sleep but pushed through pretty hard to hit the border by the end of the night  The first part was a bit exciting but once a few hundred km's got down it was pretty dull until the wake up in Kalgoorlie with a nice breakfast.  It got a bit dull and slow once we hit the Nullabor which was just a long stretch of nothing and fuel station with high fuel prices.  After struggling to find a motel, found one at Border Town just when I was getting sleepy.

Next day was far more interesting, hit well over halfway and finally started to see terrain that varied including sea which really made things quite nice.  The views got interesting and me and Susannah had a huge talk along the way about everything, I finally got to truly understand and learn all the little things I've always needed to and wanted to learn about her but never really got the time to ask and this was the perfect chance to find out since there was nothing much else to do.

Finally back at home with my stuff, so I'll be moving all my stuff from the car into the house today and starting my new job.  AV-Con stall and Neko Nation tour is virtually good to go now.  Very excited about getting business going and finally getting some money in and finally spending a few quieter weeks with my catgirl, while also having fun on her birthday coming up soon

Kind of disappointed that I didn't really get photos from the trip though.  o.0

A Moving Experience

Don't mind the bad pun, if tomorrow goes well, then I will have officially moved all my stuff from Perth to Adelaide.  It's been a tiring day, still not feeling 100% and moving boxes is something I'm struggling a bit with in terms of my cold getting worse.

Here for probably only 24 hours, didn't make a big deal about being back in Perth since I'm only here to move my things and have an important Tokyo Hardcore meeting with someone in Perth.  I start work on Monday so this move needs to be done quickly as possible.

The move was probably a lot harder than I thought not just physically but also emotionally, although it's not too bad considering the speed I have to do it in though.  While a road trip will be nice, it's a bit frustrating I will be out of action for a while and can't properly rest since I've been doing a lot of travelling in recent times and it will be nice to take a good break from it all, considering I'm still battling this cold which has been stuck on me for a month now.

Also looking forward to updating my business blog soon, will post up the link once I get a few meaningful posts and plans for it.  Anyways, getting tired, will call it an early one tonight before I make the big move part 2.  ^^

Settling In

Slowly starting to settle into Adelaide, been having a quiet period in my life at the moment, which is very rare in my life.  It's still taking it's time on my end, not having a job or uni here yet means I can kind of chill out and everything is still feeling like a holiday although to be honest, it's looking a bit dull in terms of exciting things happening as all the money is being put into Tokyo Hardcore rather than on ourselves.  However it'll all be worth it in the end plus if it means that I have to save money by snuggling up with my catgirl and watching anime and movies, so life is awesome in that regards.  ^__^

Getting ready for the trip over to Perth, which is essentially only going to be done to move my stuff over and with the only significant thing we are doing is an investor meeting for Tokyo Hardcore, plus a proper chance to say goodbye to my family too.

Once I arrive, I've got a uni open day and will be starting my first new day of my job.  It will really start to kick in then.

Really looking forward to AV-Con, while I won't get to explore AV-Con as such I'll probably be better off in the stall so I can finally have everyone find where we are so I can finally meet all the people in Adelaide which I must admit is still quite hard to do on my end, missing out on many weekends to get this all happening and also to get this Neko Nation tour going too.

Glad things are going well here, things can be a bit slow at the moment but finally living with my catgirl is awesome.  ^^

Adelaide Touchdown

So I've finally properly arrived in my new home now.  I technically arrived two weeks ago but it sort of doesn't count when I spent less than 24 hours there, didn't unpack my bags and spent a whole bunch of time doing last minute things for Japan.

Now that I've arrived, my bags are still unpacked, thanks to a massive sleep to catch up on sleep dep from Japan.  Got one hell of a week, got a lot of stuff to organise for Tokyo Hardcore for AV-Con in particular as well and really need to get onto booking all these venues for Neko Nation hopefully by next week, although things have been made difficult by having my phone services suspended which I need to sort out today though.

Looks like most of my life will be all going good, in terms of uni and work all going to plan, will need to go back to Perth to pick up all of my stuff though which means I can fully settle in properly rather then relying on a few outfits at the moment which really sucks, even once I do get them in me and Susannah are going to have a pretty full wardrobe since she's offered to share my stuff in there so it's going to be pretty full!

Other then that, I've got an epic week of stuff to organise but would like to meet some peeps in Adelaide though and possibly find an arcade sometime, lots of work but some play needs to fit in there somewhere!

Trip to Japan

First real post and as promised, the trip to Japan!

It was one hell of an emotional trip, filled with lots of fun, exhaustion and plenty of business and also adventures too!  While a lot happened in short I'll go through some of the highlights of the trip and break it down into the main cities.

Shinjuku
This is where we ended up staying, on a lot of train lines including express services, our hotel was so close to the train station and there were lots of shopping to check out in the local area.  Marui One stood out as a highlight, while I was aware of all the lolita and goth brands before coming to Japan, actually going and seeing the stores located in the building was absolutely mindblowing.  All the brands have their own stores, while all the stores are tiny their size and decor really amazing, none of the stores allowed for pics so I can't exactly put anything up.  It was a good introduction to properly seeing what all the brands in the Tokyo Hardcore store were going to be like in person.

Walking around and exploring was a lot of fun which included checking out some of the interesting arcades, some of the amazing food they had around the area and looking out for all sorts of fun things and general exploring around of the place, thankfully I had Susannah who made sure I didn't get lost because even once I found my way around Shinjuku the subway was definitely going to prove more confusing!  Also note the picture where Susannah is at the temple, our translater Naomi kept joking that the big wooden part is a penis, once seen it could not be unseen!

This was my favourite highlight from Shinjuku, you can hear me nyaaing near the end.  XD

Harajuku
This is one of the places which is absolutely amazing for shopping and to look at but ironically it was the place where we got the least amount of photos.  However it must be said the main reason why you go is for two reasons, the shopping which was amazing yet the downside here is that you are not actually allowed to take photos in any of the stores and also the fashion and the people, we saw plenty of interesting looking people, we didn't feel the need to stop any person in particular since there were way too many well dressed people me and Susannah were absolutely amazed by.

If anything stood out it was actually going to Takuya Angel and actually getting to meet him in person, he was actually a really cool guy to talk to and we've got a good potential business relationship here for multiple reasons actually now!  His store was great but actually insanely small, shopping would have been fun but we were on a tight budget here due to the nature of the trip in general so I have very little to show from my time there but even so, just going around and exploring was a lot of fun.  Personally I found Putumayo definitely a personal fave, they had did a punk collaboration with Vocaloids.  Which meant there was a punk Hatsune Miku outfit which I would have so needed if I was a girl.  XD

Shibuya
This was fun but I barely got to spend much time here.  From my end I didn't go away with much of an interesting experience since I feel like there was a lot to offer here but barely got to check much out overall.  However, the scramble definitely provides one hell of a highlight though, which is fun to look at but actually crossing the road is not fun and is actually kind of scary when you're down there, you're trying your hardest not to bump into someone every second!

I personally got to check out the Guhroovy store which was by far one of my favourite stores to check out.  It's essentially a store that's considered the rave capital in Japan, owned by Guhroovy and M-Project, it features lots of interesting rave CD's across a variety of genres by rave DJ's in Japan.  While I couldn't find my most favouritest of J-Core CD's they had an awesome variety of some really good CD's worth checking out and you can get a variety of rave fliers which included a few interesting events which I missed out on and possibly one of the best fliers I've seen in the rave scene for a CD, check out the detailing mp3 buttons on the cover girls breasts on the picture below!

Akihabara
Absolutely awesome, Akihabara is the nerd/otaku/anime mecha of the world.  Featuring many 8 level buildings dedicated to arcades, cosplay, video games, anime, merchandise and maid cafes, it was just pure heaven!  Sadly I barely got much time to check out the place and neither did I get much photo-wise.   We found a very detailed naked Hatsune Miku model in a store for around $350, it was really impressive but we just weren't perverted enough to buy it, nor did we get around to buying much tentacle rape. XD

The streets are lined up with maids everywhere shouting at you to come to their cafe, even just taking a flier makes them insanely happy and they're even happy to walk you to a cafe.  The cafe we decided on was one Susannah went last time and it was an RPG tavern themed place which had all the prices listed in gold rather than Yen.  I decided to order  custom maid cocktail which actually saw a maid making up a cocktail depended on what you liked right in front of you, it was very cute and so were the maids in general, we spent our night getting 'drunk with maids!'  Checking out the maids together the entire night.  I guess the other highlight was the arcade, which saw most of the games abandoned until I went upstairs to find a huge line for the vocaloid game which Sega recently released, it's a simple rhythm game but my god I need it, especially for days when I can't get to an ITG machine which will be very hard now that I'm in Adelaide and don't have much time for it these days too!

Osaka
Got to hang out in Osaka for a day, it was a long 4 hour train trip and we only had one day which we could go due to our business meeting schedules, however it was well worth exploring and even from a business perspective the way that meeting went was completely worth it!

Osaka saw a lot of random exploring including probably the most craziest variety store I've been to which included alcohol you could drink out of a shoe, food products from all over the world, including Tim Tams which Susannah bought to show our translator Naomi what Australians eat.  We got to check out many wonderful sites such as Takoyaki everywhere which is Japanese for octopus balls, it just seems they love to get tentacles inside them here in Osaka!

We had a blast over here checking out some interesting stores that we have known about such as Angellic Pretty and some new surprises such as an awesome cyber store we found here called Qutie Frash, the shopkeeper looked pretty awesome and I've been looking for something interesting and unique like this for some time and Osaka really springed a surprise there, so I've got a new outfit for DJing at the next Neko Nation now!

Definitely a huge highlight of the trip and even the train ride where I got to sit back and watch Japan go past was really enjoyable, being able to see the different areas of Japan from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo to the quiet and peaceful Japanese country side was a wonderful an amazing way to see Japan.

Overall it was one hell of an awesome trip but one week to explore the place definitely was not enough, we were there for almost two weeks but one trip was mostly for business and didn't really count in terms of exploring.  It was a wonderful an amazing trip which I'll definitely be going back to Japan in the near future and will have lots more pictures and stories to tell soon.

Also there will be more updates on my other blogs too!
